In my experience working with Barb as a colleague in facilitation – as well as through our friendship – I have learned much from Barb’s ability to approach facilitation, education, activism, problem solving, and skill sharing with creativity, flexibility, excitement and depth. Barb expertly balances voice and power in diverse groups by celebrating strengths and encouraging authentic communication. Barb grounds her facilitation, coaching, and consulting practice with an understanding of anti-oppression and equity. I am consistently inspired by how Barb intentionally lives her values of barter and the gift economy, anti-oppression and accessibility to find creative ways to share knowledge, skills, resources.

“Before I spoke to Barb, I felt terrified about offering screen printing workshops. After just a one hour consultation with her, I not only felt confident to teach a workshop to middle schoolers, I was actually excited! She gave me so many ideas, and practical plans to follow for different types of workshops, as well as little tips and tricks of the trade that she’s learned over the years. My workshop was incredibly successful, the kids had a blast, and I’m excited about teaching more! She was kind, lovely to talk to, her passion for her work was contagious, and she didn’t mind answering my questions as I went along. I can’t wait to work with her again.”
